Chevening, the U.K. government’s prestigious international scholarships programme, provides scholarships that enable outstanding emerging leaders from more than 160 countries to pursue one-year master’s degrees in the United Kingdom. Citizens of most Arab countries are eligible to apply. The only exceptions are the six wealthy Gulf states: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Scholars receive a year of funding to cover tuition and other costs while completing a full-time, taught master’s degree. Research-based degrees are not eligible for this award.
The programme is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and partner organisations. While there isn’t a “typical” Chevening Scholar, the programme is looking for people who have the passion, ideas, and influence to deliver the solutions and leadership required to shape a better future.
Upon completing their scholarship, recipients will become part of a vibrant network of over 57,000 alumni worldwide. Chevening scholars will return to their home countries with the knowledge and connections needed to realise their ideas and advance in their careers.
